Plan, Prepare, React: Active Shooter Response Options for Students, Faculty and Staff Class

Active shooter situations can occur anywhere, even on college and university campuses. A link to an Active Shooter video is provided below.
The “Plan, Prepare, React: Active Shooter Response Options for Students, Faculty and Staff” is a training program developed for the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia by the University of Georgia and by several other University System of Georgia institutions. The Plan, Prepare, React training program's intended audience is students, staff and faculty associated with the State of Georgia's 35 colleges and universities. This comprehensive training program includes a ten-minute video, a PowerPoint presentation, a training activity and resource materials.

Student Emergency Guidebooks will be made available to incoming UGA Students during summer orientation.
The Student Emergency Guidebook is a quick reference guide that contains emergency numbers, popular UGA websites, Emergency Notification Methods, Fall and Spring Semester Calendars, Safe & Secure Resources, and Preventing Theft tips. This project is funded in part by a 2012 grant from the UGA Parents and Families Association.

Natural and man-made disasters can occur without warning. Knowing how to prepare for and respond appropriately during emergencies can save your life as well as other students, friends and family. The Emergency Supply Kit itmes were selected to fit in a student's backpack for ease in packing and taking with you quickly in the event of an emergency. The Student Preparedness one page checklist provides a quick reference that a student can use to better prepare for dealing with personal safety and preparedness issues while at the University of Georgia.
